It’s not uncommon these days for extended families to live in different cities. However sometimes extended families live in different states, even different countries. I’ve been in the last two categories. So travel is involved for me to get together with my grandbubs. I willingly go out-of-town, or going out of the country, when I know I get to hang with the bubs!
