NinjaLine Obstacle Course Kit from HearthSong

American Ninja Warrior–Preschoolers!

Grandbub #3 has become a huge fan of the show American Ninja Warrior– both the
adult and junior versions. He’s such a fan he wanted his own course to practice on. I think it’s great! Are you surprised? Sure, typically I’d be wary of screens and young children, but this TV show motivates kiddos to move and groove. It gets kiddos developing their strength, balance, coordination, agility and confidence. Sound like something your kiddo would like too? Let’s get started with the NinjaLine Obstacle Course Kit from HearthSong!

NinjaLine Obstacle Course Kit

Included in the Kit:

• 36’L x 2″W slackline-webbing line*
• (3) 10″L monkey fists
• (2) 16″W monkey bar holds
• (2) gymnastics rings
• (10) grip clips for hanging obstacles and
• (1) convenient carry bag
* Lower slackline not included in kit

No worries over difficult installations! Phew! The NinjaLine sets up easily; just hang the slackline between 2 healthy trees (above 7½’ high). Vary the difficulty of the course. Make it more challenging, growing with your kiddo’s abilities, simply by moving the obstacles farther apart.

You won’t be stopping there! Soon your kiddo will want to add on more items to their course. For example, maybe a cargo net or rickety bridge. Perhaps they’ll move from the DIY preschool level to a competitive junior level. American Ninja Warrior Junior contestants compete in 3 age brackets:

  1. 9 and 10 year olds
  2. 11 and 12 year olds
  3. 13 and 14 year olds

Curious what some of the other requirements might be if your child really wanted to take their interest to that next level? Here’s a previous application. It’ll give you some idea of what they’re looking for and/or what they expect. Besides the physicality of the competition on the show, I’ve never been disappointed in the good sportsmanship exhibited. The hosts always find something to comment on for each competitor, not just the winner.  Of course there’re disappointments but when the focus is on effort, improved time, or seeing a tough competition through to the end there’s no shame in 2nd place. I find that so refreshing.

PLAY is ideal for children in that it helps their body’s stay healthy and grow all while having FUN. I think creating an obstacle course with a ninjaline definitely qualifies FUN PLAY!
